Alternative Work Hours and Flex Time

As the Brown Line Expansion Capacity Project continues, the Ravenswood Industrial Council is encouraging businesses to consider implementing alternative work hours and flex time as a way of easing employee commute times.  These types of policies can improve the commute times for employees who use public transportation and employees who drive to work.

Traffic Solutions.
Traffic Solutions is a California-based transportation think tank.  This website offers alternative work hours ideas, including compressed work weeks.  Some of the imformation is specific to California.

Commuter Choice Primer.
The Commuter Choice Primer is a guide organized by the Department of Transporation about employee commuter choice programs.  Section 5 offers information on flex time and alternative work schedules.
