About Us
RIC is a nonprofit, membership-based organization. Our mission is to assist local companies so that they not only remain profitable, but thrive, in our neighborhood. As a member-based organization, RIC members are provided an opportunity to significantly develop all of RIC’s programming and policies. This opportunity allows members to become a part of a larger voice in shaping the economic development of the local business community.
RIC is supported by membership and a grant from the City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Development.
As a delegate agency for the City of Chicago’s Local Industrial Retention Initiative, RIC is charged with providing support services and monitoring the development of businesses in both the Ravenswood and Addison Industrial Corridors. The goal of the Local Industrial Retention Initiative is to keep industry and its incredible contribution to our local economy in Chicago. In our capacity as a delegate agency, RIC can provide a number of services for your company, including accessing financial incentives for your business, site selection, opportunities for workforce development, and assistance with city services.
Our recent endeavors include construction of the 110-space Park & Ride facility south of Montrose Avenue and raising viaduct clearances at Lawrence, Montrose, Foster, and Irving Park. We have also coordinated and supported the ongoing landscaping and cleaning of the corridor, with the assistance of the City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development and The Greening of Ravenswood.
